On July 23, in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, representatives from the College of Applied Health Sciences, the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES), and the Chez Family Foundation Center for Wounded Veterans in Higher Education were welcomed by employees of Deloitte and Northern Trust at Northern Trust’s Global Conference Center in downtown Chicago, which included an audience of business leaders in the Chicago area.
Dr. Tanya Gallagher, dean of the College of Applied Health Sciences, Brian Silotto (Associate Dean of Advancement), Justin Seno (Associate Director of Development), Dr. Patricia Malik (Director of DRES), and Garrett Anderson (retired US Army sergeant) presented “Preparing Veterans with Disabilities for Success in the Classroom and Workplace: A Proud Tradition at the University of Illinois.” The Deloitte company has supported the Center through a gift that will name the “Deloitte Foundation Residential Suite” on the third floor of the building.

“The event was an opportunity to share information about the University’s historical leadership preparing veterans with disabilities for success after a military career,” said Seno. “We are grateful for the support of Deloitte and Northern Trust and appreciate their invitation to present to this important audience.”
